Built for Every Athlete.

Meet Coach Payton

Founder & Coach, EP Athletics

EP Athletics began with a personal mission: to teach my own children mindset skills, discipline, and athletic standards. That mission grew into a development system for athletes learning how to move, think, and compete with intention.

As an athlete, I learned that physical ability and mental preparation develop together. Competing taught me discipline. Injury taught me patience.

Why I Built EP Athletics

Coaching showed me the value of teaching the details. Athletes benefit from learning how to move, breathe, recover, and respond after a mistake.

I built EP to bring those pieces together. Every athlete deserves clear instruction, purposeful feedback, and a coach who sees the person behind the performance.

My goal is to help athletes understand their development and take ownership of it on the field and beyond it.

Built to Teach the How

Purpose Behind the Work

“Work harder.” “Run faster.” “Stay confident.” Athletes hear these instructions. They also need the tools to act on them.

Our mission is to teach the physical skills and mental habits behind those expectations, with structure, support, and a clear next step.

Development With Direction

Athletes learn to accelerate, slow down, change direction, jump, and land with control. They also learn to prepare, reset, and respond under pressure.

The EP Development Cycle gives that work direction. Athletes progress when they are ready, with coaching adapted to their needs.

Understand the work. Practice with purpose. Carry it into competition.

The EP Difference

Private coaching is at the heart of EP.

Coaching That Sees the Athlete

Individual attention
We start with the athlete in front of us, considering their movement, goals, confidence, and current demands.

Purposeful correction
We explain what to adjust and why. Athletes then practice those adjustments with repetition and feedback.

Support That Fits the Season

Mindset in real moments
Resetting after mistakes, staying engaged, and taking ownership are coached alongside physical skills. Explore EP Mindset.

Workload-aware development
Training accounts for games, practices, fatigue, and recovery. When an EP trainer attends a game, athletes can receive feedback and mindset support during appropriate breaks.

The EP Standard

Move With Purpose

Build control and sound mechanics before chasing greater speed or intensity.

Recover With Intention

Make recovery part of preparation and account for the total workload of each athlete.

Think With Clarity

Practice the reset, recognize what you can control, and choose the next action.

Prepare With Discipline

Build confidence through consistent effort, useful habits, and purposeful repetition.

Take Ownership

Ask questions, apply feedback, and carry the standard into sport, school, and life.
